Meet Fran and Dave – a holiday cottage owner’s story
The Linhaye in St Kew, a converted former wagon house, is owned by Fran & Dave Finnimore and set in the countryside just outside of Port Isaac, made famous by the BBC series Doc Martin. When Fran & Dave were looking to convert the wagon house into a holiday let a family member pointed them in the direction of Cornish Traditional Cottages, having used the letting agent for a number of years.
Following a consultation and expert advice, which included how to best appeal to the holiday market, Fran and Dave completed the conversion in 1997 and began their partnership with Cornish Traditional Cottages.
Since opening The Linhaye for letting in 1998 the property has averaged 30 weeks. In 2010 Fran & Dave converted a wing of their farmhouse calling it Pumpkin Cottage and opened for letting in 2011, last year they completed their third and final conversion, Barley Moo, which opened in the spring and still managed to achieve 26 weeks.
“The intimate and long term knowledge that CTC staff have in this market enables us to make effective recommendations every step of the way. We have enjoyed working with Cornish Traditional Cottages over the last 17 years and value the relationship we have with their warm and friendly team as we always know that they are just at the end of the phone for help and advice,” said Fran & Dave
